Okay, so you’ve got all your paperwork and licenses in order. You’ve figured out housing. You’re absolutely ready for your next travel nurse adventure. Now all that’s left to do is pack! Read on to find out what you should pack for a fantastic summer assignment.
Of course, you can’t forget this summertime must: having a great splish-splashing time in the pool or ocean. You’ll definitely want to bring your swimsuit for tanning, lounging, and swimming around on your off hours. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
It can be tempting to just pack some everyday shoes and call it good. But don’t forget to take along a trusty pair of comfortable shoes for work. After a 12-hour shift, your feet will feel much better in some supportive shoes that can handle the stress of lots of steps. Throw in a pair of sandals for casual strolls or a beach bash, and you’ll be ready to go!
Summer means heat, and that means dehydration if you’re not careful. Be sure to bring a water bottle that you can take with you to work. That way you’ll stay cool and hydrated all summer long! If you’re traveling by plane, make sure to empty the water bottle before going through security.
If you’re a photography fanatic or just love to have something tangible to remember a place by, bring a camera along to take all the swoon-worthy pictures. Don’t forget the camera charger, too. If you’re someone who could use the extra space in your bag, this is one you could safely skip. Your phone’s camera should work just fine.
No matter the season, you’ll want to have something along that makes a temporary space feel like home. Mementos, small gifts from family, special photos, or a few keepsakes are great to ward off homesickness. They also bring a lot of personality in a small amount of space.
